Here is the Hindmarsh Landcare Network Annual Report – pretty comprehensive document. We are in there somewhere about a small grant we gave them and our field trip last year.

I met their new Landcare Facilitator at a Connecting Country event last week. They are keen to talk to us about a new project. I will keep in touch with them and help them out where I can.

Brett Wheaton has resigned as the Chair and has been replaced by David Argyll.

Malleefowl at Mali Dunes

Those of you who came on the 2010 Field Trip will remember going to Sue and Bernie’s house (Mali Dunes) right on the SA border, a place called Yanac. They found a Malleefowl nest last week on their property and have seen the bird out and about while they have been rabbiting.

Rural Event 2012

The date for the Rural Event has been set at 19/20th October 2012 in Castlemaine. David Hollands is confirmed as the guest speaker at the dinner on Friday night. His presentation will be on 60 years of bird photography.

Great news today from DSE who has just released details of the Landcare Facilitator positions that they are funding. Have a look the list – we got 4 of our projects in there. This will have quite a big impact on the work our projects do, supporting the positions we fund, especially Beyond Bolac and Loddon Plains.
